Casa Systems is a world leader in cable access network solutions. We were the first to offer a Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP) that fully integrated the delivery of voice, video and data on one platform, reducing complexity and costs while improving performance. We were also the first to fully support DOCSIS® 3.0, and our DOCSIS 3.1 solutions were introduced in 2015.
One of the key reasons we’re able to stay ahead of the curve is our software‑defined cable approach, which leverages field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technology so we don’t have to wait to bring new products to market. Our software heritage contributed to the development of the Axyom™ vCCAP, which provides the next generation of CCAP services.
As you look to transform your networks for ultra broadband, our family of Distributed Access Architecture Solutions is designed to increase capacity, leverage current investments and ensure customer satisfaction. Casa’s Optical Network product portfolio of 10G PON solutions (EPON and GPON), includes an end-to-end DPoE (DOCSIS Provisioning over Ethernet) system for seamless integration and common management of EPON access with existing HFC networks.
Rely on us first to deliver the solutions you need to meet the challenges of the world beyond 1G, and the expertise you need with our Services team to help you smoothly evolve your networks and keep them running at peak performance.
The industry’s first fully integrated CCAP platform, our C100G, combines CMTS and MPEG video Edge-QAM functionality in a high‑density, high‑availability 13 RU platform. With DOCSIS 3.1 support and backward compatibility with DOCSIS 3.0, the C100G enables a smooth transition to ultra broadband today. Deployed by leading MSOs around the globe, the C100G’s software‑defined architecture, industry-leading density and integrated video capabilities provide a clear and compelling competitive edge in the delivery of ultra‑broadband services.
Our C40G CCAP platform provides all the functionality of the C100G in the industry’s smallest form factor (6RU), offering even more flexibility within your networks to deploy MPEG video, IPTV and DOCSIS over a single port. With DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 support, the C40G delivers the highest CCAP density while consuming the lowest average power per channel, minimizing both expenses and space requirements in the cable headend. And the C40G uses the same line cards as the C100G, saving you money on sparing and training, while extending the useful life of your investment.
These products have reached end-of-life status and are no longer orderable from Casa Systems. Customers with active support services contracts will continue to receive support from Casa Systems for the duration of the existing warranty and existing support services agreement, and customers may continue to purchase support services. Please refer to the End of Life Product Notices listed below for more information.
Our Distributed Access solution allows you to evolve smoothly to a distributed access architecture that can meet growing demands, while continuing to use existing CCAP management tools and current CCAP services – all without having to make costly changes to cable modems and set‑top boxes. The solution consists of our new CCAP services card (CSC8x10G) deployable on the C100G or C40G chassis; a range of Distributed Access (DA) nodes that perform DOCSIS and EQAM PHY functions and 10G Ethernet or 10G EPON transport between the CCAP core and the DA nodes.
Service providers are adopting virtualized versions of network functions and adding SDN control and orchestration to enable faster service creation and more nimble response to demand changes. In cable access networks, this trend is accompanied by fiber deep strategies which push required ultra-broadband bandwidth closer to subscribers. Casa Systems’ Distributed Access Architecture solutions and the Axyom™ vCCAP create a secure, scalable, high-performance next generation cable access network.
The Axyom vCCAP provides all the features of Casa’s award-winning C100G CCAP on COTS servers in a flexible allocation architecture that enables independent scaling of control and data planes. The Axyom Software Framework is a modular software framework designed to enable the power of virtualization in service provider networks. Designed for the cloud from the ground up, Axyom software solutions enable high performance and deployment flexibility in edge or core environments. Casa’s solutions enable a graceful migration from PNFs to VNFs with a common management interface to both.
The Casa Video Gateway (CVG) allows the cable service provider to keep all their existing video infrastructure in place when implementing new technologies like CCAP and distributed access. The CVG helps service providers avoid the challenge of reconfiguring their video headend.
